Father's Day

Last Father's Day, I started a special scrapbook for Jared that I plan on adding to each year as part of his Father's Day present. Now, I am not very experienced at scrapbooking at all. Last May, my sil, Alisha, and I started getting together twice a month to work on crafts, and I started with making this scrapbook for Jared. I pretty much never got anything done though because it would take me forever to figure out how I wanted the layout to be, what paper to use, etc, and by that time, Taylor would be awake and ready to eat. I literally would stay at Alisha's house for like 5-6 hours and get maybe one page done. By the time fall rolled around, we were both pretty busy and stopped having our craft days on a regular basis. So, I haven't done any scrapbooking (part of it has to do with the fact that we're trying to sell our house, and I have to try to keep the house from being a complete disaster).

Well, less than a week before Father's Day, I knew I had some work to do if I wanted to get things done. So, I took advantage of one of those great naps Taylor has been taking, and I finished 4 whole pages just in the time while she was asleep! Well, I just got the layout of all the pictures done and added the words a couple of days later, but that was a major feat for me! Like I said, I'm not very experienced, but I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I also got Jared a book about flipping houses, and I let him go golfing later in the week (haha... I would have let him go anyway, but I'll still include that as part of my gift)

On the last page, I put a quote from one of our church magazines, the Friend, that says, "When a father's family is happy, it helps him to become a better kind of person." We are so very blessed to have Jared in our lives, and he definitely makes us VERY happy! :-) We love you, Jared!
