Yesterday, Jared had to take the Series 7 exam for a license that he needs to work at Merrill Lynch. He has been studying for this exam ever since he started working there in April and has been working really hard the past few months. He hasn't felt very confident because he says that he hadn't been doing very well on the practice tests that he had been working on (although some people told him that the practice tests were harder than the real one). The test was in Decatur, and it is a very long test. I think he said it was like 250 questions, and you have six hours to take it! They got an hour long break during the test for lunch, and he called me and said that he didn't feel like it was going very well. He said it was so much harder than the practice tests he had taken and that the questions were worded differently, so I guess he was second guessing himself. To pass, you have to make a 70. He called me afterwards saying that he PASSED and scored like an 82 or something. Yeah, Jared!!!
Taylor and I made a sign that said, "Congratulations!" for him and hung it up with streamers. (Taylor helped by taking a nap enabling me to make the sign). Jared had soccer practice last night with the AYSO team that he is coaching, but when he got home, I had some enchiladas ready and surprised him with the sign!! I know he is very excited and relieved to have that over and done with (and now he will get a raise... woo hoo!).
